Introduced·2/11/26

The TEMP Act mandates research on frost or cold weather insurance for crops.

The Temperature Event Mitigation Policy Act, or TEMP Act, amends the Federal Crop Insurance Act to require the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation to conduct research and development on frost or cold weather insurance. This research will evaluate risk management tools and develop policies to protect against production or revenue losses for crops such as tomatoes, peppers, sugarcane, strawberries, melons, citrus, peaches, blueberries, and others. The Corporation must submit a report to Congress within a year detailing the research results and recommendations.
