Justice for 9/11 Act allows trials for 9/11 terrorists despite prior plea agreements and mandates death penalty sentencing.
The Justice for 9/11 Act ensures that plea agreements for Khalid Shaikh Mohammad, Walid Muhammad Salih Mubarak Bin ‘Attash, and Mustafa Ahmed Adam al Hawsawi will not prevent further trials for their roles in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. It also makes the death penalty available in any trial for these individuals. Additionally, the Act stipulates that these individuals must be held in solitary confinement at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, with no contact with foreign nationals and limited psychological treatment.
