Investing in American Workers Act provides a tax credit for employers who invest in worker training.
The Investing in American Workers Act amends the Internal Revenue Code to introduce a tax credit for employers who provide training to their employees. This credit is available for training that leads to recognized postsecondary credentials, such as industry-recognized certificates, apprenticeship completion certificates, state or federal licenses, or associate and baccalaureate degrees. The credit is calculated as 20% of the excess of qualified training expenditures over the average of the adjusted qualified training expenditures for the three preceding taxable years.
