The Moving Transit Forward Act of 2025 authorizes the Secretary of Transportation to provide grants to urbanized areas for public transportation improvements and security enhancements. Grants can be used for operating costs of equipment and facilities, planning service adjustments, capital projects to increase security, and safety risk mitigations. Recipients must certify that they will use the grants to increase or support service levels and maintain non-Federal expenditures for security and operating expenses.
