Ally’s Act amends the Public Health Service Act, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to mandate coverage of hearing devices and systems in certain private health insurance plans. This includes coverage for auditory implant devices, external sound processors, maintenance, upgrades, adhesive adapters, softband headbands, repair, hearing assessments, preoperative and postoperative medical and audiological visits, surgery, and aural rehabilitation services.
