The Monterey Bay National Heritage Area Study Act directs the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a study on the suitability and feasibility of designating certain areas in California as the Monterey Bay National Heritage Area. The study will include Monterey, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, and San Luis Obispo counties, as well as any adjacent or nearby areas with similar heritage aspects. The study will be conducted in consultation with the State of California, local organizations, governmental agencies, Tribal Governments, nonprofit organizations, and other relevant entities.
