The Neonatal Care Transparency Act of 2025 requires hospitals to publicly disclose their policies on providing life-saving care to premature infants, including the minimum gestational age for such care and the process for transferring infants to neonatal intensive care units. Obstetricians and other health care providers must also disclose these policies to patients at the first prenatal visit. Hospitals and obstetricians that fail to comply with these disclosure requirements will be ineligible for federal Medicaid and CHIP funding.
