The Space Exploration Research Act supplements existing lease authorities available to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to support research, education, and training in the space industry. The Administrator of NASA may lease real property for up to 99 years to entities for aeronautical and space research, education, technology transfer, and other space-related activities. The act allows for lease renewals and delegation of authorities to subordinate officers and employees. The authority applies regardless of state laws or other provisions.
