The Protect Medicaid and Rural Hospitals Act repeals changes to Medicaid State provider tax authority and State directed payments made by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. It also rescinds the amounts appropriated under these changes. Additionally, the Act increases funding for the rural health transformation program by $10 billion annually from fiscal year 2031 through 2035.
