The CLEAR Path Act amends the State Department Basic Authorities Act of 1956 to impose extended post-employment restrictions on officials in Senate-confirmed positions. These restrictions apply to any person who knowingly represents, aids, or advises a foreign governmental entity of a country of concern before an officer or employee of the executive branch. The bill also allows the Secretary of State, in consultation with the Attorney General, to propose the addition or deletion of countries described in the definition of "country of concern." The restrictions apply only to persons appointed.
