ABC-ED Act of 2025 Addressing Boarding and Crowding in the Emergency Department Act of 2025

Introduced·6/5/25

The ABC-ED Act of 2025 allows public health data modernization grants to track hospital bed capacity and assess its impact on emergency department.

The ABC-ED Act of 2025 amends the Public Health Service Act to allow certain public health data modernization grants to be used for tracking hospital bed capacity. It also mandates a study by the Comptroller General to determine best practices for developing and maintaining public health data systems for tracking hospital capacity. The study will assess how such systems affect emergency department boarding rates, wait times for treatment, and the time emergency medical services personnel wait in emergency departments to offload patients.
