The Leadership in Critical and Emerging Technologies Act, also known as the Leadership in CET Act, mandates the Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office to establish a pilot program. This program aims to expedite the examination of patent applications related to critical and emerging technologies. The pilot program will terminate after five years or once 15,000 applications have been accepted, whichever comes first. The Director must report to Congress on the program's impact and effectiveness.
