The Confronting CCP Human Rights Abusers Act requires the Under Secretary of Commerce for Industry and Security to add the Ministry of Public Security’s Institute of Forensic Science of China to the entity list within 60 days of enactment. The President can waive this requirement if the Institute is not involved in activities contrary to U.S. foreign policy interests or human rights abuses against Uyghurs and other Muslim minorities in Xinjiang. The entity list is maintained by the Bureau of Industry and Security of the Department of Commerce.
