The CHEERS Act, or Creating Hospitality Economic Enhancement for Restaurants and Servers Act, amends the Internal Revenue Code to treat energy-efficient kegs as energy-efficient commercial building property. This change allows for the energy-efficient commercial buildings deduction for such property. The bill defines qualified energy-efficient draft property as stainless steel or aluminum containers or related commercial tap equipment used for the distribution and sale of alcohol in restaurants, bars, or entertainment venues.
