The Promoting United States Leadership in Standards Act of 2025 aims to enhance U.S. participation in developing standards and specifications for artificial intelligence and other critical and emerging technologies. The Act mandates the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to establish a pilot program awarding grants to eligible entities to host meetings in the U.S. It also requires NIST, in coordination with the Department of State, to create an accessible web portal providing information on international standards activities and opportunities for U.S.
