Rural Housing Accessibility Act requires certain public housing agencies to absorb port-in housing choice vouchers.
The Rural Housing Accessibility Act amends the United States Housing Act of 1937 to require certain public housing agencies to absorb port-in housing choice vouchers. A covered public housing agency must notify the initial public housing agency whether it will absorb the voucher or bill the initial agency for up to 12 months. The covered agency must also make assistance payments to the portable family under an annual contract with the Secretary. The initial public housing agency cannot be billed for more than 12 months for these assistance payments.
