FCC Legal Enforcement Act authorizes the Federal Communications Commission to enforce its own forfeiture penalties for violations of telephone.
The FCC Legal Enforcement Act amends the Communications Act of 1934 to allow the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to enforce its own forfeiture penalties for violations of restrictions on the use of telephone equipment. If the Attorney General does not commence an action to recover an unpaid forfeiture penalty within 120 days of a referral, the FCC may prosecute for the recovery of the penalty. The FCC is directed to prioritize enforcement of unpaid forfeiture penalties greater than $25,000,000.
