RESOLUTION

Supporting the recognition of January 9, 2026, as “National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day”.

  1. (1) expresses unwavering support and gratitude for law enforcement officers across North Carolina and the United States;
  2. (2) honors law enforcement officers that sacrifice life and limb serving in the line of duty, especially those who have made the ultimate sacrifice;
  3. (3) recognizes the law enforcement community for outstanding acts of sacrifice and heroism; and
  4. (4) encourages all Americans to observe “National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day” with appropriate ceremonies and activities that demonstrate respect, support, and appreciation for law enforcement officers.
