Article of impeachment exhibited by the House of Representatives of the United States of America in the name of itself and of the people of the United States of America, against Allison Dale Burroughs, a judge of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, in maintenance and support of its impeachment against her for high crimes and misdemeanors.

ARTICLE I

Allison Dale Burroughs, a judge of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, defied the authority of both Federal law and the Supreme Court of the United States, as follows:

Judge Burroughs issued a stay on the lawful determination by the President of the United States to end temporary protected status for the nation of Somalia.

In issuing this stay, Judge Burroughs ignored the clear intention of Congress expressed in section 244(b)(5)(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act that “[t]here is no judicial review of any determination of the [Secretary of Homeland Security] with respect to the designation, or termination or extension of a [temporary protected status] designation, of a foreign state”.
