Mr. Burlison (for himself and Mr. Moskowitz) submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce

RESOLUTION

Expressing support for July, the month of America’s birthday, to become “National Fireworks Month”.

  1. (1) recognizes the historic importance of fireworks displays in the United States, particularly in annual Independence Day celebrations;
  2. (2) recognizes that the fireworks industry brings joy to communities and neighborhoods across the country and is good for the national psyche;
  3. (3) recognizes the importance of maintaining the United States supply chains and ensuring affordability so that consumer fireworks will always be prevalent on shelves so that people can celebrate the Fourth of July; and
  4. (4) urges cities and towns, counties, and other municipalities to celebrate the Fourth of July with celebrations of the Nation’s 250th birthday.
