Mrs. Harshbarger (for herself, Mr. Carter of Georgia, Mr. McGuire, Mr. Kennedy of Utah, Mr. Carter of Texas, Mr. Fuller, Mr. Van Epps, Mrs. Biggs of South Carolina, Mr. Babin, Mrs. Miller of Illinois, Mr. Stutzman, Mr. Hamadeh of Arizona, and Mr. Ciscomani) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, and in addition to the Committees on Education and Workforce, and Ways and Means, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned
A BILL
To amend title XXVII of the Public Health Service Act, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, and the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to require group health plans and health insurance issuers offering group or individual health insurance coverage that provide benefits for sex-rejecting procedures to provide benefits for items and services to address the harms caused by sex-rejecting procedures and to restore healthy human form and functioning, to the greatest extent practicable.
