The Combating International Islamophobia Act establishes an Office to Monitor and Combat Islamophobia within the Department of State. The Office will be responsible for monitoring and combating acts of Islamophobia and Islamophobic incitement in foreign countries. It will also include assessments of acts of violence and harassment against the Muslim community, instances of propaganda in media, and government responses in annual country reports on human rights practices and international religious freedom. The Office will be headed by a Special Envoy appointed by the Secretary of State.
