Establishes a grant program to document the American experience through literary and documentary arts.

The 21st Century Federal Writers’ Project Act establishes a grant program within the National Endowment for the Arts to document the American experience. The program will provide grants to eligible entities to produce written, photographic, audio, or other documentary works capturing the history, culture, customs, folklore, and lived experience of the American people. The Chair of the National Endowment for the Arts will establish an advisory panel to develop guidelines for the program, including criteria for evaluating applications and ensuring geographic and cultural breadth.
