Establishes the Local Foods for Healthy Schools Program to promote local food purchases in schools.

The Local Foods for Healthy Schools Act of 2026 amends the Agricultural Marketing Act of 1946 to establish a program run by the Secretary of Agriculture. The program, called the Local Foods for Healthy Schools Program, aims to facilitate the purchase and distribution of local foods to schools. Eligible units of government can enter into cooperative agreements to purchase local foods from covered producers and distribute them to schools. Funds can be used to purchase local foods and provide training and technical assistance.
