The Combat Pay Protection Act amends chapter 19 of title 37, United States Code, to provide for a one-time corrective increase and annual adjustments of certain special and incentive pays for members of the Armed Forces. The Secretary of Defense will increase the amount of each covered special and incentive pay by the greater of the percentage by which the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the base quarter of the preceding year exceeds the CPI for the base quarter of the year before the preceding year, or the percentage by which the rate of basic pay for members of the Armed Forces is increased.
