Keeping Pets and Families Together Act

Directs the Secretary of Agriculture to support microchipping of dogs and cats in shelters.

The bill amends the Animal Welfare Act to require the Secretary of Agriculture to enter into cooperative agreements with state and local governments to support microchipping of dogs and cats in shelters before they are adopted or transferred. The Secretary must report on the program's effectiveness by December 31, 2030, and recommend whether to extend it for another five years. The bill authorizes $5,000,000 annually for fiscal years 2026 through 2030.
