The Prior Authorization Reform for Autoimmune and Blood Disorders Act requires group health plans and health insurance issuers to cover drugs for autoimmune diseases and certain blood disorders. It prohibits these plans from requiring prior authorization for such drugs more than once in a 12-month period, except for specific drugs. The act amends the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, the Public Health Service Act, and the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.
