Autoimmune and blood disorder drug coverage required by health plans.
The Prior Authorization Reform for Autoimmune and Blood Disorders Act mandates that group health plans and health insurance issuers cover drugs for autoimmune diseases and certain blood disorders, without requiring prior authorization more than once per year. It defines "autoimmune or blood disorder drug" as a drug or biological product for treating autoimmune diseases, hemophilia, or Von Willebrand disease. The amendments apply to plan years starting on or after January 1, 2027.
