Stay Cool Act

The Stay Cool Act aims to improve response to and preparation for heat waves and extreme heat.

The Stay Cool Act establishes a program to provide grants for community resilience centers and cooling centers to purchase or repair HVAC systems and passive cooling systems. It also mandates the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development to revise regulations to include air conditioning costs in utility allowance schedules. Additionally, the Act requires a report to Congress on safe residential temperatures and regulations.
