The Hate Crimes Commission Act of 2026 creates a United States Commission on Hate Crimes to investigate factors contributing to hate crimes, including social media and technology. The Commission will also explore policies to reduce hate crimes, the impact of underreporting, and successful bias prevention efforts. The Commission will submit a report to Congress and the President with recommendations for federal agencies to improve hate crime reporting and prevention. The Commission will terminate 90 days after submitting its report.
