This bill amends title 5, United States Code, to include Certified Fire Investigators and members of the National Response Team within the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in the definition of employees in fire protection activities. This change allows these employees to receive compensation for certain illnesses and diseases deemed to be caused by their employment in fire protection activities. The amendments apply to claims filed after the enactment of this Act.
