Compensate law enforcement officers who defended the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

The January 6th Law Enforcement Heroes Compensation Fund Act provides compensation to law enforcement officers who defended the United States Capitol during the events on January 6, 2021. The Act establishes a compensation program administered by a Special Master appointed by the Attorney General. Eligible claimants include officers who served on January 6, 2021, and suffered physical, emotional, or psychological harm, or death, as a result of the events. The Special Master reviews claims and determines compensation amounts, which are paid within 180 days of the claim period's end.
