SMART Kids Act Screen-time Management And Recommendations for Teens and Kids Act

The SMART Kids Act directs the Surgeon General to create evidence-based screen time limit recommendations for children to promote healthy development.

The SMART Kids Act mandates the Surgeon General of the Public Health Service to develop evidence-informed recommendations for screen time limits for children to promote healthy development and well-being. These recommendations will be age-specific, covering children from ages 0 to 18. The Surgeon General must also consider qualitative factors, such as the potential harm of different types of screen time. The recommendations will be published on the Department of Health and Human Services website and reported to Congress within a year of the Act's enactment.
