The Connected Vehicle Security Act of 2026 prohibits the importation, manufacture, sale, resale, or introduction into interstate commerce in the United States of connected vehicles and related software and hardware from covered countries, including North Korea, China, Russia, and Iran. The prohibitions apply to vehicles and components that integrate onboard networked hardware with automotive software systems to communicate via various wireless methods. The Secretary of Commerce can issue binding rulings or advisory opinions on whether specific items are subject to the prohibitions.
