CHARLIE Act Civics and History Advancement to Restore Learning, Integrity, and Education Act

The CHARLIE Act prohibits funds for American history and civics programs from supporting radical indoctrination.

The CHARLIE Act amends the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 to prevent funds from the American History and Civics program from being used for discriminatory equity ideology or gender ideology. It also prohibits the Secretary from giving priority to eligible entities based on race, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or immigration status. The bill defines "discriminatory equity ideology" and "gender ideology" based on executive orders.
