Accelerates forest management by codifying a categorical exclusion for certain salvage harvesting activities.

The Accelerating Forest Management Act codifies a categorical exclusion for salvage harvesting activities under the National Environmental Policy Act. These activities include cutting, yarding, and removal of dead or dying trees, chipping or grinding of residual slash, and seeding or planting to accelerate native species re-establishment. The bill also extends the Forest Ecosystem Health and Recovery Fund through 2033. Salvage harvesting activities are limited to areas affected by disturbances such as fire, insects, disease, drought, or other disturbances.
