Increases the maximum Federal Pell Grant and extends eligibility for students.
The College Affordability and Accessibility Act amends the Higher Education Act of 1965 to increase the total maximum Federal Pell Grant award per student to $14,800 for award years 2026–2027 and 2027–2028. For award year 2028–2029 and each subsequent award year, the maximum Pell Grant will be adjusted annually based on the Consumer Price Index. The bill also extends the period of eligibility for Federal Pell Grants to include the first postbaccalaureate course of study at an eligible institution of higher education.
