The Local Law Enforcement Support Act of 2026 expands funding opportunities for local law enforcement agencies under the Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program and the Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Program. The bill allows for funds to be used for recruiting, hiring, training, and retaining law enforcement personnel, acquiring protective equipment, increasing capacity to combat digital crimes, supporting drone and counter-drone operations, expanding the availability of forensic technologies, and enhancing communication with and providing services to victims of violent.
