The Public Lands Workforce Stability Act prohibits the Department of the Interior and the United States Forest Service from initiating, implementing, or carrying out any reduction in force or involuntary separations of employees until September 30, 2030. This prohibition applies to employees in the competitive service, career employees in the excepted service, and career appointees in the Senior Executive Service. Involuntary separations are only allowed for cause on charges of misconduct, delinquency, or performance.
