Energy Consumer Protection Act of 2026 prohibits violators from selling natural gas and electric energy.

The Energy Consumer Protection Act of 2026 amends the Federal Power Act and the Natural Gas Act to enhance enforcement against violations. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission can prohibit or suspend violators from selling natural gas, electric energy, and related products. The Act also prohibits knowingly filing false information about natural gas transportation and sales, with civil penalties for violations.
