The PEARL Act, or Pharmacists Ethical Autonomy and Religious Liberties Act, shields pharmacists from being compelled to dispense or sell abortion-inducing drugs, such as mifepristone and misoprostol, if doing so conflicts with their sincerely held religious beliefs. It prohibits any form of punishment, including license revocation or loss of federal funding, for pharmacists who decline to dispense these drugs. Pharmacists who face such requirements or punishments can seek injunctive relief through a civil action in federal court.
