The Criminal History Access Act of 2026 amends Section 534 of title 28, United States Code, to allow the Federal Bureau of Investigation to exchange criminal records with peace officer standards and training agencies. These agencies, which set standards for hiring, training, and ethical conduct of law enforcement officers, will now have authorized access to such records. The Attorney General must amend regulations within 180 days of the Act's enactment to implement these provisions.
