The MAKERS Act directs the National Science Foundation to award grants for makerspace research and development.

The MAKERS Act, or Making Advances Kinetic Education, Research, and Skills Act, directs the National Science Foundation to award competitive grants to institutions of higher education or consortia to support research and development of makerspaces. These spaces aim to assist in forming a STEM-capable workforce. The grants can be used for research on makerspace effectiveness, equipment, and other activities deemed appropriate by the Director.
