The 287(g) Cooperation Act of 2026 amends the Immigration and Nationality Act to require states or political subdivisions to enter into a memorandum of agreement with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to be eligible for Community Oriented Policing Services grants. This Act applies to grant applications for fiscal year 2027 and each fiscal year thereafter. The Attorney General must consult with the Secretary of Homeland Security to establish procedures for determining whether an agency has entered into such a memorandum of agreement before approving any grant.
