The Preventing Future Vintage Plastic Pipeline Tragedies Act requires owners and operators of gas distribution pipeline facilities to assess their systems for the presence of Aldyl-A polyethylene within three years of the Act's enactment. The bill also mandates these owners and operators to report to the Secretary the estimated total pipeline mileage identified as Aldyl-A polyethylene. The Act amends existing law to include pipelines constructed of historic plastics with known safety issues in the evaluation of risk in distribution integrity management programs.
