Establishes a supplemental period of unpaid parental leave for Department of Veterans Affairs employees.

The Supporting VA Families Act establishes a supplemental period of unpaid parental leave for employees of the Department of Veterans Affairs. This leave is in addition to any existing leave entitlements and is available for up to four administrative weeks within any 12-month period. The leave can be taken due to the birth of a child or the placement of a child for adoption or foster care. This entitlement expires at the end of the 12-month period following the birth or placement.
