The SECURE Health Act seeks to improve global health security by clarifying and focusing U.S. support for frontline health workers. It establishes a Global Health Workforce Strategy and an interagency task force within the National Security Council to oversee implementation. The Act also mandates the appointment of a Global Health Workforce Coordinator within the Department of State. It requires annual reporting on U.S. efforts to train and support health workers and encourages the establishment of a biennial global report on the health workforce.
