The STOP Nitazenes Act amends the Controlled Substances Act to permanently schedule 2-benzylbenzimidazole opioids, commonly known as nitazenes, as Schedule 1 controlled substances. This includes substances structurally related to 2-benzylbenzimidazole with specific modifications and those exhibiting agonist activity at the mu-opioid receptor. The Attorney General is directed to publish a list of substances meeting the definition of 2-benzyl benzimidazole opioid in the Federal Register.
