Take Back Our Hospitals Act of 2026

Prevents hospitals and skilled nursing facilities owned by private equity funds, corporations, or REITs from participating in Medicare.

The Take Back Our Hospitals Act of 2026 amends title XVIII of the Social Security Act to prohibit payments under Medicare to hospitals or skilled nursing facilities owned or controlled by certain firms. These firms include private equity funds, corporations controlled by private equity funds, and real estate investment trusts. Hospitals or skilled nursing facilities owned by these firms will not be considered in violation until three years after the enactment of this bill.
