H.R.7912

Neonatal Care Transparency Act of 2026

Introduced·3/12/26

The Neonatal Care Transparency Act of 2026 mandates hospitals and obstetricians to disclose policies on life-saving care for premature infants.

The Neonatal Care Transparency Act of 2026 requires hospitals to publicly disclose their policies on providing life-saving care to premature infants, including the minimum gestational age for such care and the process for transferring infants to facilities with neonatal intensive care units. Obstetricians and other health care practitioners must also disclose these policies to patients during the first prenatal visit. The Act prohibits federal Medicaid and CHIP funding for hospitals and obstetrics providers that fail to meet these disclosure requirements.
